CornerLocTM Procedure

CornerLocTM is a minimally invasive, outpatient procedure designed to relieve pain caused by sacroiliac join (SI) instability.

The SI joint connects your pelvis to the bottom-most segment of your spine (the sacrum). It is responsible for transferring weight between your upper body and legs and absorbing shock forces.

The SI joint can become damaged or deteriorated due to injury, aging, or certain medical conditions. When this happens, the bones can rub together, aggravating nerve endings and causing pain.

What is CornerLocTM?

CornerLocTM provides a more natural alternative to standard joint fusion procedures. Instead of relying on inserting metal rods, CornerLocTM promotes joint stability by introducing organic, grafted bone material directly into the joint area.

The bone material provides immediate stability within the joint and promotes stronger, faster, and more natural fusion with adjacent bone structures. This improved joint stability prevents aggravation of nerves and relieves pain.

The procedure is administered via a simple injection and patients can go back home within just a couple hours.

Who is a Candidate for CornerLocTM?

CornerLocTM is designed to be a more streamlined and less invasive alternative to standard joint fusion procedures.

It is possible to treat SI joint pain with a variety of more conservative treatment options, including:

  • Over-the-counter pain medications
  • Physical therapy
  • Chiropractic care
  • Prescribed pain medications
  • Therapeutic injections
  • Radio-frequency Ablation (RFA)

However, if some or all of these conversative treatments fail to provide the patent with adequate relief, a joint fusion surgery may be necessary.

Patients who have exhausted their conservative options could benefit greatly from a CornerLocTM procedure.
